Eliza’s first Thanksgiving was really fun! We had a fun weekend full of family and relaxation. On Thursday we were lazy at home all morning and went over to Marge’s in the afternoon for Thanksgiving dinner. Eliza had fun with her cousins, aunt Laura, uncle Kevin and Marge.

On Friday, Andy and I decided to go to Napa for the day and taste some wine and enjoy the nice weather. Eliza came too on her first official wine tasting. She was great! First we went to Domaine Chandon and said we were my dad and Cathy, who are members, and got two free tastings! I had Eliza in the Ergo carrier and she just hung out and took everything in. Next we went to Sequoia Grove and she fell asleep while we were tasting. Then we went to V. Sattui for a family picnic for lunch. The weather was so nice and it was great to be outside! Last, we went to our old favorite, Napa Cellars, where Eliza fell asleep again while we were tasting. Then we went home!

On Saturday we went over to Marin for Spare Rib Day at Ralph and Elayne’s. But first we met our friends Ari and Rebecca for lunch at Marin Brewery. We hadn’t seen them in a while so it was nice to catch up. Then when we got to Andy’s parents house, Eliza had fun seeing more of her cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. As usual, Siena was especially excited to see her! It was a fun day.

Halloween was so much fun this year with a baby to dress up! I found an adorable Little Red Riding Hood costume at Target for $15 and decided that was what I wanted for Eliza. She looked absolutely adorable in it! She had a few chances to wear it. The first time was to a costume party at Heidi’s house where all of the babies dressed up. It was really cute. The second time was on Halloween at Bridget’s (daycare) and the third time was Halloween night for our neighborhood Halloween parade and costume contest in the park. I was surprised that Eliza won second place in the costume contest. The winner was a cute little boy dressed as Yoda.

I had also submitted Eliza to be in a kids Halloween costume contest on the CSE Insurance Facebook page. My friend Cindy works for CSE and she had encouraged me to enter Eliza in the contest. Whoever got the most “likes” won a $20 gift card to Target. I kept posting on Facebook asking people to vote and I sent a link to the picture to my co-workers and Eliza ended up winning with 117 likes! I was so excited. She truly looked adorable. Here are a few shots of her in her costume:
